We want to inform our valued members about an ongoing phishing scam targeting financial institutions, including Horizon Credit Union.

Some members have reported receiving fraudulent text messages from numbers like 423-456-2327 and others, falsely claiming to be from us. These messages ask if a recent card transaction was attempted at a retailer, with varying details. The message then prompts a response of YES or NO.

If a member responds, they receive a follow-up stating that someone will contact them soon. A phone call then comes in, appearing to be from our official number 423-530-7778—however, this number is being spoofed by scammers. During the call, the fraudsters attempt to collect online banking login credentials.

🔹 Please remember: Horizon Credit Union will never ask for your personal account details, including login IDs, passwords, or security questions over text or phone.

If you receive a suspicious message or call:
✅ Do not respond to the text.
✅ Do not share any personal or banking information.
✅ Contact us directly at our official number to verify any concerns.
